Whole-House Electrical Inspection

Expert Whole-House Electrical Inspection in Dallas and Surrounding Areas

Just as your car requires routine maintenance to run efficiently and safely, your home’s electrical system should be checked regularly too. Unfortunately, most homeowners believe their home’s systems can run on autopilot indefinitely and don’t discover the need for scheduled maintenance until a major and expensive electrical problem occurs.

To ensure safe and efficient operation, have your home’s entire electrical system inspected each year. Ragsdale’s licensed electricians follow the NEC (National Electric Code) and can perform a comprehensive inspection of your home, including, but not limited to:

  • Breaker panel
  • Meter base
  • All visible wiring areas, including the attic, crawl space and unfished basement
  • Smoke/CO alarms
  • Switches
  • Outlets

Whole-House Electrical Inspection

We’ll look for worn-out or frayed wires and check to see that older homes have sufficient circuitry and grounding for updated electrical uses, especially in kitchens and bathrooms, which receive high electrical usage around water, where extra precaution is needed. In these rooms, it’s important to have ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCI), which protect against electrical shock.

As a means of protecting against electrical fires, your home should also have arc-fault circuit interrupters (AFCI) installed. According to the Heathy Homes Report of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the absence of AFCIs is a top residential hazard associated with fire-related injuries.
